PLEASE READ if you are making a puppy inquiry

The demand for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever puppies has always been high, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic less puppies are available because many breeders were not producing litters during the pandemic. In addition, many breeders have been overwhelmed by the high demand for puppies and because they already have long waiting lists may have responded until they were more certain of their breeding plans.

Please be patient – our breeders maintain high standards and adhere to the NSDTR Club of Canada standards of ethics in order to provide healthy, high quality Toller puppies.

What can you do?

Look at the NSDTR Club of Canada Breeder’s List to find breeders near you.
Ensure that any breeder you contact is reputable and is willing to provide you with the health clearances required to breed healthy puppies, including hip, eye and heart tests.
Ask for a puppy questionnaire and to be placed on their waiting list.
If possible, visit their kennel or home and see their dogs.

RESCUE INQUIRIES: We rarely have Tollers in Rescue, and due to the current high demand our Rescue Coordinators may not be able to respond to every inquiry.
